[ You sleep, the ground cold beneath your cheek. The ground is hard as stone, cold marble beneath a fine layer of dust that doesn't come anywhere near acting as a cushion. The dust stirs with your breathing.

As he snags the pallet knife, the medallion catches his attention. Huh. He doesn't recognize the symbol. Might as well pick it up.

[ The medallion in hand, the glyphs on his handcuffs shine black for a moment, and the ink words on his hands too are luminous.

It feels safe. Powerful. Like the oppressive aura of the house is somehow less foreign to you when you hold it. Less of a threat. ]

[ A slight shiver goes all through Miles at that. With all this shit he's picking up, he actually doesn't feel quite as vulnerable. Carefully, he backs out of the room and goes looking for another empty spot to check out. ]

From there, the nearest unexplored door is to the WEST of the Dusty Hallway— which leads to a coal chute, down to the basement.
